An 8-day trek by car through southern Norway and wild camping in the most beautiful places. The pearl of Norway.
You wake up, unzip your bivouac bag, look around and think WOW what a great view. You look out over the lake where we caught delicious trout yesterday and you see that the campfire is still smoldering. You jump out of your sleeping bag, throw on another log and the new day can begin with a nice cup of cowboy coffee. Wild camping in the most beautiful places in Norway an experience never to forget.
For the third time I organize, together with Ido, this unique opportunity to experience wild camping in Norway. All the beauty of outdoor life comes together here in Southern Norway. A trek by car along the most beautiful places in Norway with many unique opportunities for wild camping. The places are nicely spaced and we have many choices daily. The weather conditions and the experience of the group determine the route and where we spend the night. Halfway we will probably get into the snow and if conditions allow we will also wildcamp here. The trek is organized by 2 experienced wild campers and Norway experts (Ido & Olaf) who are well known locally.
The first day we leave for Hirtshals to take the afternoon boat to Kristiansand. This boat is a pleasant start to your vacation. On board we can have a nice meal and after arrival we drive about 30 minutes to the first beautiful place to wild camp in Norway.
We help to get in touch with the others so arrangements can be made between them. Also with Color Line, the earlier you book the lower the rate. On request or after registration participants will receive detailed information about wild camping in Norway and practical matters such as money, clothing and food.
Itinerary
Wild camping is a tent is perhaps the most obvious option, but I think there are much better alternatives. How about a bivouac bag? The big advantage of wild camping in a bivouac bag instead of a tent is:
- Travel > about 8 hours of travel from Groningen to the boat. We sleep in a nice spot on the coast.
- Hut > about 2 hours drive we will go to farm where we have rented huts. Here we can acclimatize
- The 1st night at a very cool spot, by a lake, good fishing, making a fire
- New spot, beautiful nature, here we stay 2 days
- Time for yourself to test your skills, do a hike etc.
- New spot at reasonable distance from the boat.
- Boat
- Night in Denmark on the beach and the next day back home
Target group
Young and old, friends, family or individual for anyone who has an affinity for outdoor life or wants to be more.

Practical tips
Of course good preparation is half the battle, especially when wild camping in Norway. The best tips I could give are;
Tip #1 Don't take too much with you.
Tip #2 Don't take too little either. Water and alcoholic snacks
Tip #3 Plan the boat on another computer through the Norwegian (.no) site, it is often much cheaper
Tip #4 Energy. Bring a (full) power bank and cable. Also don't forget a charger in your car
Tip #5 Enjoy
