Exotac Titanlight Wick (2 Pack)

The wick that comes with the titanLIGHT™ would last a very long time if properly maintained. If the wick looks worn or spiky, simply pull more wick from the top and cut it off with sharp scissors. If the wick binds, you may need to remove the tank cap and cotton to free the wick enough to pull through. Once you reach the proper length (top of flame screen), fold the wick between layers of cotton balls and replace the tank cap.

HOW TO REPLACE:

Replacing the wick requires patience and sharp scissors.

Remove the flame guard by pushing out the brass pin while holding the guard down.

Remove cotton from the inside of the lighter (use a few paper towels to soak up extra lighter fluid).

Pull out the old wick.

If necessary, clean the stocking opening with alcohol using a cotton swab.

Cut the end of the new wick at a 45-degree angle with sharp scissors.

Wet the cut end of the wick with alcohol or a small amount of water.

While holding the cut end, pull the other end of the wick to stretch it and reduce its cross-section.

Insert a new wick from the outside through the top of the lighter, being careful not to fray it.

After starting the wick in the hole, guide it slowly in very small increments, always supporting it with your fingers as it enters the hole. If it frays, trim the wick and start over.

Once you can see the wick in the fuel hole, grab it with tweezers or pointed pliers and pull it through. Leave about 2.5 cm protruding from the top of the titanLIGHT™ for trimming later.

When replacing the cotton, you want to fold the wick into the cotton to create "layers" until you get to the opening of the fuel cavity. this maximizes the surface area of the wick on the cotton so it can absorb the fuel.

PACKAGE INCLUDES:

Replacement wicks (2 pieces)
