The Winter Adventure in Finnish Lapland is by far the most special adventure of the year.
Wild camping in the heart of winter, 300 kilometers above the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland, how cool is that?
The basis is basically like any adventure; a fun time and experience for everyone!

The program extended;
- Flying from Amsterdam to Ivalo, upon arrival we will go to a typical Finnish hotel in the center where we can have a nice bite of reindeer meat and acclimatize a bit.
- The next morning we go to the supermarket opposite the hotel where everyone can stock up on provisions for the next few days (everyone gets a shopping suggestion list). Around noon we are picked up by our local connection who drops us at a beautiful spot in the middle of nowhere. After a beautiful drive through the snowy landscape we set up our base camp which consists of 2 hot tents (tent with wood stove), gather a nice supply of wood, explore the area and get used to our new habitat.
- The 3rd day the adventure really begins, today we are going ice fishing. We scour the lakes and look for the best place to fish. With our ice drill we make a hole in the ice and we all try to catch an evening meal together and maybe more for the next few days as we don't need a refrigerator.
- Day 4 a nice hike is planned, we leave the base camp and go out as minimalist as possible and find a nice spot to make a shelter.
- Day 5 we walk back to base camp via a different route where we can make another thick fire and hopefully enjoy the Northern Lights in the evening.
- Last day already in the deep freeze, nice fishing/hiking
- Our local picks us up and takes us to the local airport in Ivalo where we can freshen up, have a cup of coffee. And then we fly back to Schiphol - Amsterdam.
